First and foremost, it is thanks to our volunteer helpers that the FWA is able to provide its services. Our volunteers are given training in areas such as first aid St John Ambulance & Rescue document and Food handling.
The FWA appreciates monetary donations received throughout the year. Monetary donations are used to purchase dry food items to be supplied in hampers weekly. The funds are also used to help out with energy bills, medicines, sanitary products, baby milk formula and nappies and when we can, also partially support with rent payments on a once only basis.
Through the year the FWA receives assistance from various entities and organisations, typically
- Golden Harvest
The FWA receives a constant supply of bread received from Golden Harvest.
- Malta Food Bank Foundation
The Franciscan Welfare Association also received a van load of fresh croissants, donuts, bread and Danish pastry from the Malta Food Bank Foundation – MFBF. We heartily thank and show our appreciation to these institutions who, with their continued support, fill us with zest and enthusiasm to fulfil our mission towards helping the more needy in our community!
The Malta Food Bank Foundation – MFBF continues to assist, in particular the recent donation: a van load of groceries, frozen scampi and bread buns!
